Macy's 82nd Thanksgiving Day PARADE
Preview: Nov. 26 from 3-10pm, Parade: Nov. 27 starting 9am
Giant balloons, floats, clowns, marching bands, dance troupes, Broadway and popular stars from Kristen Chenoweth to Kermit the Frog and more!
A tradition dating back to 1924, giant helium balloons have been a staple since 1927 and floats joined the line-up in 1969. (Today's floats are created in Hoboken, NJ and travel in pieces through the Holland Tunnel before being assembled for the big day). The two-and-a-half mile route has not changed since 1946.
The 82nd parade begins Thanksgiving Day morning at 9am, at 77th Street and Central Park West. It travels south on CPW to Columbus Circle (59th Street), then continues south on Broadway on 34th Street, finishing at Herald Square. Viewing locations are on Central Park West between 70th and 60th Streets, at Columbus Circle, and on Broadway between 58th and 38th Streets.
To see the giant balloons being inflated, head over to 81st Street and Central Park West on November 26 between 3pm and 10pm.

To get there from Escape Guesthouse: To see the parade on Central Park West: take the F train to West 4th street, and then the B/C train to either 59th or 72nd Street. To see the parade on Broadway: take the F train to 34th street, and then the B/C train to 59th Street or the N/R/W/Q to 42nd or 49th Street. To see the balloons blown up take the F train to West 4th Street, and then the B/C train to 81st Street.

The Skyscraper Museum
Current Exhibit : Vertical Cities (the second in a cycle of three related exhibitions)
The three-exhibition series, entitled FUTURE CITY: 20 | 21 juxtaposes early 20th-century American visions of futuristic skyscraper cities with an exploration of Chinese cities today, pursuing the parallel conditions of rapid modernization and urbanization. The first exhibition of the cycle, "New York Modern" showcased New York's emergence in the 1920s as the preeminent skyscraper city, and the third, “China Prophecy,” explores the 21st-century skyscraper city of Shanghai.
The Skyscraper Museum is located in lower Manhattan's Battery Park City at 39 Battery Place. Museum hours are 12-6pm, Wednesday-Sunday. General admission is $5, $2.50 for students and seniors.

Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum
An Essex-class aircraft carrier, the USS Intrepid is coming home after a 2-year refurbishment. The Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum is a unique chance to explore an aircraft carrier, a submarine (USS Growler), a Concorde jet, flight simulators, space capsules (replicas of Aurora 7 and Gemini 3), and a wealth of artifacts and correspondence (from World War II forward) that bring the stories of sailors, pilots, captains and astronauts to life.
The Intrepid is located at Pier 86 (12th Ave. & 46th St.) on Manhattan's west side. Museum hours are 12-6pm, Wednesday-Sunday. General admission is $19.50, with reduced rates for students, children, and seniors.
